Daily Itinerary

Day 1

We start the tour of Cape Breton in the Village of Baddeck on the beautiful Bras D'or Lakes.  From here we'll do a warm up ride through the Baddeck River Valley in preparation for the trip to come.

Day 2

On we go through the Margaree Valley,  around Lake Ainslie, Cape Breton's largest freshwater lake and ending at the Glenora Inn & Distillery. Here we can take a tour of the only single malt whiskey distillery outside of Scotland and dine on wonderful fresh seafood. Tonight there's a Ceilidh (Celtic dance party) at the inn!

Day 3

Today's ride takes us down shore to the French fishing village of Cheticamp. For an extra loop, ride to Cheticamp Island and swim at the sandy beach there before checking in to the water side Baywind Suites.

Day 4

It's the big one today: 80 km over two mountains (shuttles are always readily available to those who want them) through Cape Breton Highlands National Park and on to the Markland Coastal resort at Dingwall. This inn is situated spectacularly on a point that juts into Aspy Bay, and surrounded by mountains that cascade down into the sea.

Day 5

Today starts with a spin along the shore of Aspy Bay then on through Neil's Harbour, a scenic fishing port, and into Ingonish Beach. Here we check in to Keltic Lodge at Middle Head, one of Nova Scotia's premier resorts. Take a walk after you ride along the inn's private trails out to the tip of the peninsula. Tonight we dine in what is considerd to be one of Nova Scotia's finest and most picturesque restaurants

Day 6

Our last day takes us up and over Cape Smokey, and then along a flat coastal plain to finish at Baddeck.
