Our Team |
Eastwind Cycle TeamEastwind Cycle brings a skill set to this project based on 15 years in the bicycle touring industry in Atlantic Canada. Our experience in tour development and operation gives us an insider’s perspective on the requirements of touring cyclists. As avid riders and velo- commuters we have a hands-on understanding of the issues facing those who ride every day as a means of transportation. We have developed an expertise specific to bikeways infrastructure design and will also draw on our experience in the non profit and advocacy sector to act as catalysts in creating and extending a network of safe and cohesive cycling routes throughout Atlantic Canada. We are committed to increasing cycling safety, experiential tourism and community involvement in active transportation and recreational cycling. Increasingly, sustainable tourism and active transportation are becoming integral parts of community economic development and community health strategic planning. Ensuring that such initiatives are well planned and supported by the community is key to the success of bicycle route development. To that end, we are interested in partnering with local tourism and business associations and recreation departments to facilitate implementation of improved safety and cycling infrastructure.
